For information on how to make your AOL software Y2K compliant:

Sign on to the service with your normal AOL software and use keyword: Year 2000.

Windows 16-bit and 32-bit version information:

The 16-bit version does not support JavaScript and has no Java controls under preferences. The 32-bit version does support the newer JavaScript and has Java controls under preferences. AXIS Online Banking uses JavaScript to perform input validation and requires this capability. There should be no problems with the 32-bit version.

If you are a Windows 3.1 user, your operating system supports only the 16-bit version of the AOL Software and will not work with Internet Banking. You will need to upgrade to a 32-bit version. However, if you are using an older computer, you may need to check with the manufacturer to see if you need to upgrade your system.

If you are using Windows 95 and above, you will be able to run the 32-bit version of the AOL software.

Macintosh information:

Currently the America Online For Macintosh Version 4.0 will work with Internet Banking. The minimum system requirements recommended by AOL are as follows: 32 megs of ram, 7.5.3 operating system, 30 megs of disk space, a 14.4 modem, PowerPC or a 68040 processor. (This software will run on an IMAC using 8.3 operating system.)

Alternative Suggestions:

Download Netscape Communicator 4.7 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (these browsers have the latest JavaScript engines and are Y2K compliant.), and use either of these as your browser. AOL will allow you to log on, -minimize, then open one of these browsers.

Use another Internet provider (besides AOL) which supports either Netscape Communicator 4.51 and above or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 and above.
